Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall

ValueC

TradesF
FutureB-
The Eagles lost the trade table, and the C- tells the story. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Eagles started one anyway for LJ Johnson Jr., 243 picks ahead of schedule. It washes out to a C-, no better and no worse.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Fitzgerald. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
If Zion Young and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick34
Rnd2
Zion Young
They paid up for Zion Young at Round 2, Pick 2 when waiting would have done the job. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick38
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
They did well to land Dillon Thieneman in pick 38, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick75
Rnd3
Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch in No. 75 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick104
Rnd4
Jack Endries
Jack Endries at the 104th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick116
Rnd4
Beau Stephens
Value said wait; Beau Stephens in the 116th pick says they were not listening. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick122
Rnd4
Bishop Fitzgerald
Bishop Fitzgerald slid further than he should have, and slot 122 is lovely value for the safety. The roster fit checks out.
Pick137
Rnd4
Isaiah World
Isaiah World at pick 137 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick149
Rnd5
Tanner Koziol
They paid sticker price for Tanner Koziol in Round 5, Pick 11, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick151
Rnd5
Treydan Stukes
Treydan Stukes in pick No. 151 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick153
Rnd5
Zane Durant
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Zane Durant well ahead of where he belonged. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick179
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
A tidy little value on DJ Campbell in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick201
Rnd6
LJ Johnson Jr.
They talked themselves into LJ Johnson Jr. at slot 201, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick227
Rnd7
Keyron Crawford
Keyron Crawford at the 227th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
