Draft Grade — Rams
Overall

FutureA
A solid, sensible weekend for the Rams: B-. The Rams looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Isaac TeSlaa at the 127th pick regardless, 107 picks early.
Spending an early pick on linebacker with safety, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. However the rest shakes out, Fortune at that price is a win they earned.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick84
Rnd3
Elijah Arroyo
Elijah Arroyo slid further than he should have, and the 84th pick is lovely value for the tight end. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick90
Rnd3
Darien Porter
A slide stopped in the 90th overall pick, with Darien Porter worth more than the price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick101
Rnd3
Jeffrey Bassa
They reached a country mile for Jeffrey Bassa at pick 101, and the board is aghast. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick109
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
No edge and no loss on Anthony Belton in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick127
Rnd4
Isaac TeSlaa
A real head-scratcher, Isaac TeSlaa in pick No. 127 is miles ahead of his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick128
Rnd4
Kobe King
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending slot 128 on Kobe King with safety, quarterback and other spots unsolved.
Pick140
Rnd5
Jah Joyner
A wild overpay on Jah Joyner in the 140th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It fills a real need, too.
Pick170
Rnd5
O'Donnell Fortune
Somehow O'Donnell Fortune was still sitting there in slot 170, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick190
Rnd6
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
A premium they did not need to pay, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson a notch or two before his time. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick201
Rnd6
KeAndre Lambert-Smith
KeAndre Lambert-Smith at pick No. 201 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick202
Rnd6
Jason Marshall Jr.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jason Marshall Jr.. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick205
Rnd6
Teddye Buchanan
They left a pile of value on the table to take Teddye Buchanan this early at Round 6, Pick 29. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick240
Rnd7
Ja'Quinden Jackson
Nice patience on Ja'Quinden Jackson, who had no business lasting to No. 240. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
