The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Chiefs watched Ja'Corey Brooks slide 38 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. The Dawson Knox deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
