The Patriots drew a line under the quarterback search with Maye: B+. The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Drake Maye, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The Patriots indulged a want in Abrams-Draine while a need in interior defensive lineman and tight end stayed open. Murphy has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Magee at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
