FutureB-
Larceny in the Round 5 slot lands the Steelers a B, Judkins and all. You could see the war room lean forward. Quinshon Judkins at No. 158 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Sanders has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Malaki Starks
In the 21st overall pick they get a rangy last line of defense, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick52
Rnd2
Tre Harris
A tidy little value on Tre Harris in slot 52, a step better than break-even. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick84
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in the Round 3 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick122
Rnd4
Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter at the 122nd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick158
Rnd5
Quinshon Judkins
A running back of that caliber at pick 158 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick163
Rnd5
Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy at pick No. 163 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick231
Rnd7
James Burnip
They barely believed it either: James Burnip still on the board at No. 231. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick247
Rnd7
Shilo Sanders
A conviction pick on Shilo Sanders at Round 7, Pick 29 that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
