The Commanders did not so much draft Cody Simon as overpay for him, 43 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. That Wilson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Brock Bowers and all.
