The Packers let Williams fall and pounced. Final grade: B+. The real work happened on the phones. The Packers fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
Williams at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The cost of the Bertrand reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
