Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureC-
The Bills won the night they stopped Jones from sliding. Grade: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bills were there to profit. Elijah Jones, the No. 116 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 160th pick. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The cost of the Boyd reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

On the needs board they went 9 of 9, with linebacker the one that mattered most. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In No. 31 they get a double-digit-sack hope, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick33 Rnd2 Roman Wilson
They went early on Roman Wilson in the Round 2 slot, and the value did not follow. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick60 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jordan Morgan reach Round 2, Pick 28 and blink. They did not. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick71 Rnd3 Adisa Isaac
Adisa Isaac slipping to the 71st pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jonah Elliss
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jonah Elliss in pick No. 94. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick101 Rnd4 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at pick 101 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick120 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
Nice patience on Braelon Allen, who had no business lasting to slot 120. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick128 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
They took Beaux Limmer at par in the 128th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick131 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson in the Round 4 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick134 Rnd4 Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey in pick No. 134 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick142 Rnd5 Justin Eboigbe
A reach on Justin Eboigbe in the 142nd overall pick; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick144 Rnd5 Khristian Boyd
Khristian Boyd at pick 144 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick160 Rnd5 Elijah Jones
They will replay Elijah Jones at slot 160 for years; that is how good the value is. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick161 Rnd5 Christian Jones
The board fumbled Christian Jones all the way to No. 161, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick163 Rnd5 Beau Brade
Beau Brade in the 163rd pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick166 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kitan Oladapo in Round 5, Pick 30. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick172 Rnd5 Jordan Travis
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jordan Travis. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick189 Rnd6 Dylan Laube
Somehow Dylan Laube was still sitting there in slot 189, and they pounced on premier running back value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick200 Rnd6 Erick All
Erick All in pick 200 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick204 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
A tidy little value on Curtis Jacobs in the Round 6 slot, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick248 Rnd7 Evan Anderson
They reached into another round for Evan Anderson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
