Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall D
ValueB NeedA- TradesF FutureC+
Maye is the plan now, and the Vikings grade out a D.

Somebody took the Vikings to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

The whole projection now runs through Drake Maye; hit there and everything else looks smarter. That Brade pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

The Eichenberg reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In Round 1, Pick 7 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick11 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In the Round 1 slot they get juice off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick107 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
A real head-scratcher, Tommy Eichenberg in No. 107 is miles ahead of his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick109 Rnd4 Josh Newton
Josh Newton at the 109th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick122 Rnd4 Luke McCaffrey
A wild overpay on Luke McCaffrey in slot 122, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick130 Rnd4 Matt Goncalves
They barely believed it either: Matt Goncalves still on the board at pick 130. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick145 Rnd5 Keith Randolph Jr.
The board had cheaper options than Keith Randolph Jr. at pick No. 145, and it noticed. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick157 Rnd5 Beau Brade
Beau Brade in the 157th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick166 Rnd5 Javion Cohen
A quiet steal in pick No. 166: Javion Cohen for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick179 Rnd6 LaDarius Henderson
LaDarius Henderson is a better player than the 179th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick227 Rnd7 Blake Watson
A conviction pick on Blake Watson at slot 227 that the board grades a round light. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
