Draft Grade — Titans
Overall A
ValueA- NeedB- TradesA+ FutureA+
Grand theft in the 66th pick: the Titans steal Stone and grade out a A.

The Titans did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and David Stone fell into the Round 3 slot. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Lonergan pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Trevor Goosby
In the 21st pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Ahmad Hardy
Ahmad Hardy in pick 35 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick46 Rnd2 Will Echoles
Circle this one: Will Echoles at Round 2, Pick 14 is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick66 Rnd3 David Stone
David Stone in the Round 3 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick103 Rnd4 Devan Thompkins
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Devan Thompkins in No. 103, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick140 Rnd5 Brandon Inniss
Brandon Inniss at pick No. 140 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick182 Rnd6 Dylan Lonergan
A wild overpay on Dylan Lonergan in slot 182, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick222 Rnd7 Andrew Rappleyea
Andrew Rappleyea at the 222nd overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
