Draft Grade — Raiders

FutureB-
The Raiders finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Fernando Mendoza is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop.
Every board in the league had Allar lower, and that gap is the story. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. That is a tight end worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Spending an early pick on linebacker with running back open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Fernando Mendoza
In pick No. 2 they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Pick16
Rnd1
Caleb Lomu
In the 16th pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front, though they paid up to get him. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick36
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
A slide stopped in slot 36, with Sonny Styles worth more than the price. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick92
Rnd3
Daylen Everette
Daylen Everette is a better player than No. 92 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick102
Rnd4
Harold Perkins Jr.
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Harold Perkins Jr. at linebacker with running back open.
Pick112
Rnd4
CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels in Round 4, Pick 12 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick117
Rnd4
Drew Allar
A real head-scratcher, Drew Allar in the 117th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick134
Rnd4
Mikail Kamara
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Mikail Kamara. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick152
Rnd5
Zane Durant
They left a pile of value on the table to take Zane Durant this early at Round 5, Pick 12. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick175
Rnd5
Aamil Wagner
They did well to land Aamil Wagner in pick No. 175, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick185
Rnd6
Anez Cooper
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Anez Cooper. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick208
Rnd6
Jeremiah Wright
They paid a round early for Jeremiah Wright in the 208th overall pick, more than the board wanted. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick219
Rnd7
Dallen Bentley
They robbed the room for Dallen Bentley here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
