The Titans found their guy under center in Ward: B-. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Titans spent their marquee pick on Cam Ward, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Every board in the league had Cook lower, and that gap is the story. That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In the 1st pick they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick11
Rnd1
Cam Ward
In the 11th overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Pick47
Rnd2
Landon Jackson
Landon Jackson in the Round 2 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick103
Rnd4
Sebastian Castro
A tidy bit of business in slot 103, where Sebastian Castro graded well above the range. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick120
Rnd4
Xavier Restrepo
A quiet steal in pick 120: Xavier Restrepo for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick141
Rnd5
Emery Jones Jr.
They took Emery Jones Jr. at par in pick No. 141, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick226
Rnd7
Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins in Round 7, Pick 10 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick251
Rnd7
Brady Cook
Brady Cook in No. 251 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick257
Rnd7
Shilo Sanders
Value said wait; Shilo Sanders in pick No. 257 says they were not listening. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
