The Lions did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jay Higgins fell into the 227th overall pick. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If Morrison pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
