FutureB+
Sellers is the Jets' new face under center. Grade: B+. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Jets spent their marquee pick on LaNorris Sellers, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
Every board in the league had Thompson lower, and that gap is the story. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.
Getting Sabb where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
LaNorris Sellers
In No. 11 they get a franchise quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick32
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In the 32nd pick they get a matchup problem out wide, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick33
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
Anthony Hill Jr. at pick 33 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick56
Rnd2
Connor Lew
Value with a capital V on Connor Lew in Round 2, Pick 24, a genuine coup. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick64
Rnd2
Darrell Jackson Jr.
Darrell Jackson Jr. in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick102
Rnd4
Keon Sabb
Somehow Keon Sabb was still sitting there in slot 102, and they pounced on premier safety value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick132
Rnd4
Jadarian Price
A straight-up fair deal on Jadarian Price at pick No. 132, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick178
Rnd5
Monroe Mills
Monroe Mills in the 178th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick207
Rnd6
Raylen Wilson
By-the-book stuff, Raylen Wilson at pick No. 207 squarely in line with his ranking. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick215
Rnd6
Jaren Kanak
Jaren Kanak at pick 215 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick240
Rnd7
Ricardo Hallman
No drama and no debate, Ricardo Hallman went about where he belonged in Round 7, Pick 25. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick254
Rnd7
Jalen Thompson
They reached a country mile for Jalen Thompson at slot 254, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick255
Rnd7
Cayden Lee
Cayden Lee slid further than he should have, and the 255th pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. It fills a real need, too.
