The phones sank the 49ers this weekend: D.

The phones were a trap the 49ers kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They banked enough surplus on Melton to cover a lot of smaller sins. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and running back is still a hole.
