Draft Grade — Saints
Overall C+
ValueC- NeedB TradesD- FutureA
The Saints got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the C+.

The tape said wait; the Saints did not. Brady Cook went at slot 131, a good 150 picks before the board was ready. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In No. 9 they get a mismatch in the passing game, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick71 Rnd3 Miles Frazier
A real head-scratcher, Miles Frazier in the 71st pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick93 Rnd3 Deone Walker
Nothing to complain about; Deone Walker went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick112 Rnd4 Oluwafemi Oladejo
Oluwafemi Oladejo in Round 4, Pick 10 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick131 Rnd4 Brady Cook
They reached into another round for Brady Cook, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick184 Rnd6 Jalen McLeod
A reach for Jalen McLeod in the Round 6 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick248 Rnd7 Davin Vann
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Davin Vann well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick254 Rnd7 Brandon Adams
No edge and no loss on Brandon Adams in pick No. 254; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
