Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B+
ValueA NeedB TradesB+ FutureB
Grand theft in No. 204: the Bills steal Skattebo and grade out a B+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bills were there to profit. Cam Skattebo, the No. 110 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 204.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Thomas has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick35 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Somehow Malaki Starks was still sitting there in the 35th overall pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick56 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
They did well to land Tyleik Williams in Round 2, Pick 24, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick86 Rnd3 Azareye'h Thomas
They paid a round early for Azareye'h Thomas in slot 86, more than the board wanted. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick107 Rnd4 TreVeyon Henderson
You do not let a running back like TreVeyon Henderson reach No. 107 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick123 Rnd4 Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy at pick No. 123 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick130 Rnd4 Lander Barton
Lander Barton at pick 130 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick167 Rnd5 Jake Majors
Steal is underselling it; Jake Majors at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick169 Rnd5 Smael Mondon Jr.
They will replay Smael Mondon Jr. at the 169th pick for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick172 Rnd5 Lathan Ransom
Lathan Ransom at pick No. 172 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
Pick175 Rnd5 Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles in the 175th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick202 Rnd6 Cody Simon
They robbed the room for Cody Simon here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick204 Rnd6 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at slot 204 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick253 Rnd7 Ollie Gordon II
The board fumbled Ollie Gordon II all the way to the 253rd overall pick, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
