Nobody else had Roman Hemby anywhere near the Round 7 slot. The Cowboys did, by 57 spots, and that gap is the whole story. The warnings were there, and the F is the bill.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Scott value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
