The Cowboys let Taaffe fall into their laps, and walked away with a C.

The curious call sets the tone. With quarterback and running back still glaring, the Cowboys used No. 72 on Michael Taaffe, a safety they were not exactly short of. A mixed bag that lands at C.

Landing Taaffe that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The Curry reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The Cowboys paired the rookies with proven help, O'Cyrus Torrence leading the way.

If Arvell Reese and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
