Draft Grade — Bills

FutureF
Williams is the Bills' new face under center. Grade: F. The Bills lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Every board in the league had Jones lower, and that gap is the story.
They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left interior defensive lineman open, and the grade is the bill.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the 1st overall pick they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick2
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In Round 1, Pick 2 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick50
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
Nothing to complain about; Xavier Worthy went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick120
Rnd4
Christian Jones
They talked themselves into Christian Jones at pick No. 120, and the board did not agree. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick210
Rnd6
Jaylan Ford
By-the-book stuff, Jaylan Ford at slot 210 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
