Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall
D+

FutureB-
The Commanders have some explaining to do: D+. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Commanders spent pick 7 on Trey Moore, a name the board had a full 211 spots lower. Too much went sideways, and the D+ is the honest tally.
The Dennis-Sutton pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Trey Moore
In the 7th overall pick they get a problem off the edge, a steep price for the projection.
Pick71
Rnd3
R Mason Thomas
Circle this one: R Mason Thomas at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick145
Rnd5
Jakobe Thomas
They took Jakobe Thomas at par in pick No. 145, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick187
Rnd6
Josh Moten
Josh Moten in slot 187 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick223
Rnd7
Noah Thomas
Noah Thomas at No. 223 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick226
Rnd7
Dani Dennis-Sutton
Dani Dennis-Sutton at pick 226 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It fills a real need, too.
