Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall C
ValueF NeedB TradesC- FutureB-
The Raiders drew a line under the quarterback search with Sanders: C.

The Raiders clearly saw something nobody else did in Sav'ell Smalls, taking him 407 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It lands right in the middle: a C, no more, no less.

Everything downstream of Shedeur Sanders depends on Shedeur Sanders, and the building knows it. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.

It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In pick 1 they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Sav'ell Smalls
Value said wait; Sav'ell Smalls in the 34th overall pick says they were not listening. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick65 Rnd3 Dayon Hayes
Dayon Hayes in the Round 3 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick103 Rnd4 Keaten Wade
Keaten Wade at the 103rd pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick138 Rnd4 Jimmy Horn Jr.
Jimmy Horn Jr. at slot 138 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick139 Rnd5 Will Sheppard
This one needs a full-page explanation: Will Sheppard in No. 139, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick216 Rnd7 Chidozie Nwankwo
They left a pile of value on the table to take Chidozie Nwankwo this early at the 216th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
