Haulcy should have been long gone. The Cowboys pounced, and earned a B+.

The Cowboys ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

Haulcy at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. It is not that Smith is a bad player; it is that the Cowboys had louder needs to answer first. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
