The board owed the Saints one, and it paid up: Ja'Quinden Jackson, the No. 160 name on the board, sitting there at Round 7, Pick 37 like a gift left on the doorstep. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They will need Kandra to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
