Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Patriots.

The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named wide receiver, a need the Patriots walked right past. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

On value alone, Helm makes the weekend a net positive. Reaching for Borregales left real value on the table behind him.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In slot 4 they get a potential shutdown corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick38 Rnd2 Mike Green
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Mike Green at the 38th pick is the proof. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick69 Rnd3 Dylan Sampson
Dylan Sampson at pick No. 69 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Pick77 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo at the 77th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick106 Rnd4 Gunnar Helm
Gunnar Helm in the Round 4 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick144 Rnd5 Andres Borregales
They went early on Andres Borregales in Round 5, Pick 6, and the value did not follow. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick217 Rnd7 Nazir Stackhouse
A quiet steal in No. 217: Nazir Stackhouse for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick220 Rnd7 Desmond Watson
They jumped the gun on Desmond Watson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick238 Rnd7 Jabbar Muhammad
No edge and no loss on Jabbar Muhammad in the 238th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
