A mixed bag for the Texans, and a C to match.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Texans did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most.

Every board in the league had Shipley lower, and that gap is the story. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.

So much rides on Edgerrin Cooper that the real verdict is a season or two away.
