Draft Grade — Texans
Overall

FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Texans and Mukuba: B+. You could see the war room lean forward. Andrew Mukuba at the Round 4 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
The Wilson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Cooper Beebe deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick44
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka in the Round 2 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick63
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
A clean, defensible pick in the 63rd pick with a little surplus value in Alfred Collins. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick68
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
A conviction pick on Ozzy Trapilo at the 68th overall pick that the board grades a round light. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick79
Rnd3
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson at Round 3, Pick 15 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick89
Rnd3
Cam Skattebo
A reach for Cam Skattebo in slot 89; a little patience would have been rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick108
Rnd4
Darius Alexander
A slide stopped in pick No. 108, with Darius Alexander worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick128
Rnd4
Jaylin Noel
They barely believed it either: Jaylin Noel still on the board at No. 128. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick133
Rnd4
Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba at pick 133 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick166
Rnd5
Emery Jones Jr.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Emery Jones Jr. in the 166th pick, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick236
Rnd7
Shemar James
Shemar James in Round 7, Pick 20 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick241
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa at the Round 7 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
