Draft Grade — Texans
Overall

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Texans, and a B to prove it. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Texans spent pick 257 on Jalin Conyers, a name most had 118 spots down the list. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The Jones Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In the 25th overall pick they get a wrecking ball inside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick66
Rnd3
Alfred Collins
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Alfred Collins at slot 66. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick79
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
No drama and no debate, Ozzy Trapilo went about where he belonged in the 79th pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick89
Rnd3
Jaylin Noel
They paid sticker price for Jaylin Noel in No. 89, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick95
Rnd3
Cam Skattebo
No edge and no loss on Cam Skattebo in pick No. 95; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick166
Rnd5
Emery Jones Jr.
They barely believed it either: Emery Jones Jr. still on the board at Round 5, Pick 28. It fills a real need, too.
Pick241
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa slid further than he should have, and the 241st pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick257
Rnd7
Jalin Conyers
Jalin Conyers in pick 257 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
