Draft Grade — Texans

The Texans cashed the board's mistake on Golden: B. The rest of the league will want that one back. Matthew Golden tumbling to the Texans in the 58th overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The cost of the Conner reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In the 25th pick they get a true top target, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick58
Rnd2
Matthew Golden
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 58th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick79
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
You do not let a running back like TreVeyon Henderson reach Round 3, Pick 15 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick89
Rnd3
Elijah Arroyo
A quiet steal in slot 89: Elijah Arroyo for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick166
Rnd5
Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten is a better player than No. 166 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick236
Rnd7
Carson Vinson
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Carson Vinson. It fills a real need, too.
Pick241
Rnd7
Hayden Conner
They reached into another round for Hayden Conner, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
