Larceny in pick 58 lands the Texans a B, Hampton and all.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Omarion Hampton, the No. 31 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 2 slot. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

In pick 25 they get a seam-stretching tight end, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick58 Rnd2 Omarion Hampton
You do not let a running back like Omarion Hampton reach the Round 2 slot and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick79 Rnd3 Tre Harris
Tre Harris in Round 3, Pick 15 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick89 Rnd3 Charles Grant
Charles Grant at pick No. 89 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick166 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
They will replay Pat Bryant at slot 166 for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick236 Rnd7 Dante Trader Jr.
Dante Trader Jr. at the 236th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. It adds depth where they could use a little.

No edge and no loss on Shemar James in the 241st pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
