The Texans let Ransaw fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Texans watched Caleb Ransaw slide 29 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

They paid sticker price for Seth McLaughlin in slot 166, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.

Somehow Caleb Ransaw was still sitting there in Round 7, Pick 20, and they pounced on premier safety value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
