Draft Grade — Texans

The Texans cashed the board's mistake on Skattebo: B. You build a draft on nights like this. Cam Skattebo had no business being available in the 127th overall pick, and the Texans did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They are betting Wilson proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In slot 25 they get a No. 1 receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick58
Rnd2
Jonah Savaiinaea
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jonah Savaiinaea at No. 58 is the proof. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick89
Rnd3
Jared Wilson
A conviction pick on Jared Wilson at pick 89 that the board grades a round light. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick90
Rnd3
Gunnar Helm
They took Gunnar Helm at par in the 90th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick127
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at Round 4, Pick 25 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick166
Rnd5
Chase Lundt
They paid sticker price for Chase Lundt in the Round 5 slot, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick236
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
No drama and no debate, Isaac TeSlaa went about where he belonged in pick No. 236. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick241
Rnd7
Akili Arnold
Somehow Akili Arnold was still sitting there in the 241st overall pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. A minor itch, scratched.
