Larceny in No. 79 lands the Texans a B, Noel and all.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Texans walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

Noel at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Job largely done: running back settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

In the 25th pick they get a security blanket over the middle at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kaleb Johnson
Kaleb Johnson slid further than he should have, and pick No. 58 is lovely value for the running back. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick79 Rnd3 Jaylin Noel
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Jaylin Noel in slot 79, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick89 Rnd3 Charles Grant
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Charles Grant. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick166 Rnd5 Chase Lundt
They took Chase Lundt at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick236 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa at pick 236 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick241 Rnd7 Desmond Watson
Desmond Watson at Round 7, Pick 25 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
