Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Jordan James, the No. 116 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 166.

The cost of the Kendall reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
