The Texans cashed the board's mistake on Lundt: B-.

Somebody in No. 243 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while Chase Lundt, the No. 173 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Every board in the league had Skattebo lower, and that gap is the story. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick58 Rnd2 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at No. 58 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick89 Rnd3 Tez Johnson
Tez Johnson in the 89th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick127 Rnd4 Jared Wilson
Steal is underselling it; Jared Wilson at slot 127 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick167 Rnd5 Jay Higgins
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jay Higgins in pick 167, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick210 Rnd6 Logan Brown
Taking Logan Brown in Round 6, Pick 32 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick243 Rnd7 Chase Lundt
Chase Lundt in the 243rd overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
