Draft Grade — Texans
Overall
B
ValueA

TradesB-
FutureB-
The Texans let Robertson fall and pounced. Final grade: B. Somebody in the 243rd overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while Sawyer Robertson, the No. 205 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. They will need Ott to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In No. 28 they get the heartbeat of the defense at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick38
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq in the 38th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick59
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman at the 59th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick69
Rnd3
Christen Miller
They robbed the room for Christen Miller here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick106
Rnd4
Sam Hecht
They will replay Sam Hecht at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick141
Rnd5
Beau Stephens
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Beau Stephens. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick167
Rnd5
Jaydn Ott
A reach on Jaydn Ott in Round 5, Pick 27; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick243
Rnd7
Sawyer Robertson
They barely believed it either: Sawyer Robertson still on the board at pick 243. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick244
Rnd7
Jadon Canady
Jadon Canady in pick No. 244 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor itch, scratched.
