The Texans did not so much draft Gerry Bohanon as overpay for him, 206 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They banked enough surplus on Arnold to cover a lot of smaller sins.

The veteran additions, Kyle Dugger chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
