Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Texans spent the 189th overall pick on Trey Taylor, a name the board had a full 78 spots lower. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Bertrand falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

If DJ James and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
