Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Texans spent the Round 7 slot on Demani Richardson, a name most had 67 spots down the list. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
