The Texans let Cowing fall and pounced. Final grade: D.

The Texans clearly saw something nobody else did in Oronde Gadsden II, taking him 35 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Cowing at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman and quarterback still on the board. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
