Pudge DRAFTING FOR THEBengals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall
B

TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Bengals a B. When the story of this class is written, it opens with Josh Proctor at the Round 7 slot, a reach of 47 spots that the board flatly disagrees with.
Wease at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through offensive lineman. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In slot 17 they get a weapon on the perimeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick49
Rnd2
Nate Wiggins
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 49, where Nate Wiggins graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick81
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
By-the-book stuff, TreVeyon Henderson at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick117
Rnd4
Cade Stover
Value said wait; Cade Stover in No. 117 says they were not listening. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick154
Rnd5
Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske at the 154th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick173
Rnd5
Theo Wease
Theo Wease at pick 173 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick195
Rnd6
Michael Barrett
Fair-plus on Michael Barrett, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick238
Rnd7
Willie Roberts
They will replay Willie Roberts at the 238th pick for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick254
Rnd7
Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor at pick No. 254 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A minor need, but a need all the same.
