A solid, sensible weekend for the 49ers: B-.

The tape said wait; the 49ers did not. Noah Carter went at Round 4, Pick 38, a good 57 picks before the board was ready. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
