Larceny in the Round 5 slot lands the 49ers a C+, Ferguson and all.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the 49ers, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.

The Ferguson pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The Smith reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

The veteran additions, Greg Newsome II chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

So much rides on Luther Burden III that the real verdict is a season or two away.
