Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
Grand theft in the Round 7 slot: the Seahawks steal Monangai and grade out a B.

The board owed the Seahawks one, and it paid up: Kyle Monangai, the No. 194 name on the board, sitting there at No. 249 like a gift left on the doorstep.

They will need Paige to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The phones were where this weekend was really won. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In the 24th overall pick they get a disruptive interior force. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick66 Rnd3 Quinn Ewers
This one needs a full-page explanation: Quinn Ewers in the 66th pick, miles early. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick81 Rnd3 Luke Kandra
Luke Kandra at pick 81 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick82 Rnd3 Gunnar Helm
The board had cheaper options than Gunnar Helm at pick No. 82, and it noticed. The roster fit checks out.
Pick137 Rnd4 Jackson Slater
A conviction pick on Jackson Slater at the Round 4 slot that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick173 Rnd5 Jack Nelson
Nothing to complain about; Jack Nelson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick187 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
They paid sticker price for Luke Lachey in Round 6, Pick 9, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick212 Rnd6 Kyle Williams
A quiet steal in No. 212: Kyle Williams for less than the market said. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick236 Rnd7 Makari Paige
Makari Paige in slot 236 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick245 Rnd7 Francisco Mauigoa
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Francisco Mauigoa well ahead of where he belonged. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick248 Rnd7 Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders at the 248th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick249 Rnd7 Kyle Monangai
Somehow Kyle Monangai was still sitting there in the 249th pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick256 Rnd7 Kitan Crawford
They barely believed it either: Kitan Crawford still on the board at pick 256. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
