FutureA+
The Cardinals let Kilgore fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jalon Kilgore, the No. 114 name on the board, stolen at No. 153. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Reaching for Leigh left real value on the table behind him.
The Cardinals clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick Analysis
Pick43
Rnd2
Isaiah World
By-the-book stuff, Isaiah World at No. 43 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick44
Rnd2
Connor Lew
They took Connor Lew at par in the 44th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick74
Rnd3
Cade Klubnik
Cade Klubnik in pick No. 74 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick97
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers at pick 97 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick113
Rnd4
Chase Bisontis
They paid up for Chase Bisontis at the Round 4 slot when waiting would have done the job. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick152
Rnd5
Iapani Laloulu
Iapani Laloulu at slot 152 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick153
Rnd5
Jalon Kilgore
They will replay Jalon Kilgore at Round 5, Pick 13 for years; that is how good the value is. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick171
Rnd5
Zane Durant
They paid sticker price for Zane Durant in the 171st pick, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick190
Rnd6
Aamil Wagner
Taking Aamil Wagner in slot 190 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick224
Rnd7
Tristan Leigh
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tristan Leigh. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
