Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB TradesC- FutureA+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Titans for Pierce: B.

Somebody in No. 241 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Titans sat still while Hollin Pierce, the No. 117 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

Every board in the league had Lachey lower, and that gap is the story. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In the 30th pick they get a featured back, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jahdae Barron
Taking Jahdae Barron in No. 35 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick56 Rnd2 Ashton Gillotte
Ashton Gillotte at the 56th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick62 Rnd2 Tre Harris
Value with a capital V on Tre Harris in pick No. 62, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick102 Rnd4 Riley Leonard
No drama and no debate, Riley Leonard went about where he belonged in slot 102. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick108 Rnd4 Jake Majors
They paid sticker price for Jake Majors in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick119 Rnd4 Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius at Round 4, Pick 18 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick131 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
A safety of that caliber at pick 131 is the definition of value, full stop. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick142 Rnd5 Luke Lachey
This one needs a full-page explanation: Luke Lachey in the 142nd overall pick, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick168 Rnd5 Joshua Farmer
They barely believed it either: Joshua Farmer still on the board at the 168th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick171 Rnd5 Antwaun Powell-Ryland
They read the board right and Antwaun Powell-Ryland was the payoff at the Round 5 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick175 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Logan Brown is a better player than slot 175 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick179 Rnd6 Jeffrey Bassa
Jeffrey Bassa at pick 179 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
Pick180 Rnd6 Kobe King
Kobe King in No. 180 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick206 Rnd6 Nick Nash
They robbed the room for Nick Nash here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick229 Rnd7 Alijah Huzzie
They will replay Alijah Huzzie at Round 7, Pick 11 for years; that is how good the value is. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick241 Rnd7 Hollin Pierce
Hollin Pierce in Round 7, Pick 23 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
