Quarterback settled, Daniels in the fold, and a F for the Seahawks.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Seahawks did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

They will need Weaver to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They have staked the next five years on Jayden Daniels, which is the only story that really matters here.

The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with running back and interior defensive lineman still on the board. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

In short, a weekend the front office will want to forget in a hurry.

In the 20th pick they get a premier pass rusher, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.

They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Terrion Arnold in pick 33. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.

Xavier Legette in Round 2, Pick 8 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

They paid sticker price for Ja'Tavion Sanders in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

By-the-book stuff, Zach Frazier at No. 74 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

This one needs a full-page explanation: Marshawn Kneeland in the Round 3 slot, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Junior Colson at the 109th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.

A curious use of the 118th overall pick. Running back and interior defensive lineman needed the pick; a TE-EDGE in Cade Stover did not.

Jordan Travis at pick No. 120 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It fills a real need, too.

Darius Robinson at pick 145 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
