The Steelers let Ersery fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+.

When a board-topper like Aireontae Ersery slides to the 223rd pick, you do not overthink it, and the Steelers did not. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Their trades came out a wash either way.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
