If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bears would have aced it. John Williams at No. 233 is 36 spots clear of where he belonged. The bottom line is a respectable B.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Williams value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
