The Vikings worked the phones like thieves and earned a B. The Cam Jackson pick is the one that will follow the Vikings into the fall. They took him 45 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Bond value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the defensive front, outstanding value to boot.
Pick96
Rnd3
Isaiah Bond
Steal is underselling it; Isaiah Bond at pick 96 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick134
Rnd4
Jonas Sanker
A straight-up fair deal on Jonas Sanker at the 134th pick, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick139
Rnd5
Kobe King
A slide stopped in pick No. 139, with Kobe King worth more than the price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick161
Rnd5
Damien Martinez
A clean, defensible pick in Round 5, Pick 23 with a little surplus value in Damien Martinez. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick164
Rnd5
Nick Nash
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Nick Nash in No. 164. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick165
Rnd5
Tommi Hill
Tommi Hill at pick 165 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick168
Rnd5
JJ Pegues
A reach on JJ Pegues in the 168th pick; the board had better options right there. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick187
Rnd6
Cam Jackson
Cam Jackson in the Round 6 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
